Artist in Residency at Woodstock Elementary

What a joy it was to work with the Kindergarten teachers and talented students at Woodstock Elementary last year. I was so impressed with the Chinese immersion program. I envy those Kindergarteners comprehending and speaking Chinese!
The Audubon Society came to their classrooms first with an incredible presentation about birds then I came in and gave them a lesson on drawing birds and let the students created incredible ceramic hanging birdbaths. Some of the students have never worked with clay before and were able to learn to score and slip, coil and imprint on clay so quickly. Sometimes we underestimate what these little kiddos can achieve! Here are a few pictures of the Spring classes. I look forward to coming back to Woodstock as an artist in Residence again this year!
